From wandering the world to settling down in Lisbon
Settling down with good prospects and a comfortable lifestyle
Get to know Lina Fischer. A 35-year-old German music agent,
who has previously lived in 8 different countries but has now settled in Portugal.
German expat settles in sunny Lisbon
Lina believes herself to be highly outgoing and familiar with the globe, thanks to her experience living in eight different countries. She considered all of these options, but decided to settle on Portugal because it offers the highest level of stability along with access to some of life's finest qualities, such as pleasant climate, abundant sunshine, delicious cuisine, and the vibrant culture of Portugal's capital, Lisbon.
"I love starting the morning with a cup of coffee overlooking the river, working on my laptop, and finishing the day at one of the hundreds of terraces in Lisbon, with great music, good friends, and a nice glass of wine".
Lina left Hamburg, in Germany, to start a new life in Portugal, where she is now working as a freelance music agent.
She was born in Munich, but the sea was always a very important part of her life, so she moved to Hamburg to be a bit closer to this element she cherishes so much. Despite loving the lifestyle there, she didn't see a future that aligned with her values and goals as much as she did in Portugal - and so she decided to make the move to Lisbon, where it is sunny, warm, and beautiful all year round.
She hopes to begin a family in Lisbon and is excited by the prospects Portugal offers, including better tax advantages than in her home country; a lower cost of living; investment opportunities, and a high standard of living.
She also has friends in Lisbon, which is a bonus, given her outgoing personality and adventurous spirit. These good friends were responsible for introducing her on the benefits of the NHR, which is an incentive to her personal plans in Lisbon for the future.
Discovering and Deciding

Fischer's Moving Timeline
Despite the fact that Lina already had some understanding on the steps she needed to take, speaking to one of moviinn's specialists in relocation helped her structure a plan for her first few months in Portugal.
Start of Services
Choosing the right long term home was definitely one of the main priorities - and moviinn helped both find a long term and short term solution in neighborhoods that fit Lina's personality and needs.
Finding a home
Being an EU citizen, CRUE (Certificate of Residence) was the most viable option, and moviinn helped Lina get all the documentation needed to get this done.
CRUE Certificate
After all the bureaucracy was done, and the application was finally approved, Lina moved to Portugal full time.
